Although the Longstaff family retired from bus operation in 2011, the service and the buses were taken over by Lyles of Batley, who continue to run it under the Longstaff name, retaining local "good will". The personalised registration of this 2003 Volvo/Wright bus (JJL = J.J.Longstaff & Sons) shows that it was one of those taken over with the business. It is seen here at the Ings Grove (Mirfield) terminus of route 205 (Mirfield - Dewsbury), which follows exactly the same route as the number 11 of my day, passing the end of the cul-de-sac where we lived (slides 8 - 10).
